Our Mission
The Rothenberg Law Firm Accident and Injury Lawyers is a family of lawyers and legal support professionals, all dedicated to accomplishing the same mission. When a client hires us, they are getting a legal team that is committed to achieving the following goals as part of our mission:
1. Maximizing Our Client’s Recovery.
We recognize that our legal system only allows injury victims to seek one type of recovery from those who injured them: a monetary award. Therefore, when we take a case, we do everything we can to achieve the maximum recovery possible to compensate our client and his or her family for the injuries they have suffered. Our goal is to tilt the playing field in favor of our client, who would otherwise be at a distinct disadvantage going up against well-financed corporate defendants and/or insurance companies.
2. Repairing Shattered Lives.
We understand that a personal injury can be devastating to a family, so we seek to do more than just legally prosecute a client’s claim. We try to make sure that our client gets necessary attention from medical specialists, psychological counselors, financial advisers and other professionals who can help repair the damage to our client and his or her family, as much as possible. We seek to be more than mere legal counselors to our clients; we want to be their beacon of hope during the darkest days of their lives.
3. Going To Trial When Needed.
We are not a “plaintiff’s mill” that takes on a volume of cases, only to settle as many as possible for modest money and minimal effort. We are not mere “middlemen” seeking to take a piece of an easy settlement. When we take a case, we take it as zealous advocates, aggressively preparing it for trial and willing to go the distance for our clients when defendants do not offer full and fair compensation for the injuries they caused or for which they are liable.
4. Winning a Client’s Loyalty.
We seek not just satisfied clients, but loyal clients who will remember us for having helped them put their lives back together. At the end of every case, we want a client who will enthusiastically and unhesitatingly recommend us to others.
Our Values
We are not only committed to achieving our mission on behalf of clients, but we are committed to doing it in a manner that is consistent with our values. Thus, when a client hires us, they can expect we will act with:
Honesty
Consistent with our professional duty, we will be honest with the client, the court, the opposing party and their counsel, as well as all others involved in the judicial process. Sometimes, this means telling a client something that is hard to hear, but it always means protecting our reputation for honesty and integrity in dealing with others.
Promptness and Courtesy
We will return every phone call as promptly as possible, and we will treat our clients with courtesy and respect. We also believe that anyone calling our office for any reason – as a client, a referral source, or an opposing lawyer – deserves a prompt and professional reply.
Patience
We know that dealing with personal injuries can be frustrating and difficult, and so we pledge to act quickly and zealously on behalf of our clients. But we are also committed to being patient with them when they need explanations of legal, medical or other relevant information, or when they just need someone to be a committed listener during difficult times.
Compassion
We do not forget why we are here – to help others. So, if we can get an insurance company to promptly fulfill its obligations to provide our clients the medical care and other attention that they need, then we will prioritize that over fighting about money. We have, in fact, succeeded in persuading insurers to pay for our clients to get top-flight medical care without necessity of trial (e.g. getting a hip fixed by the same doctor who attended to a famous sports star) in order to eliminate our client’s future physical pain and suffering.
Thoroughness
We pay attention to every detail for our clients, from the start of a case to the very end. Thus, even after a defendant has agreed to settle a case, we don’t just accept a written settlement agreement from opposing counsel, no matter how it is worded. We will advocate for the best possible wording to insure that our client’s rights are not hindered with respect to future claims or related issues. At case end, we also contact and negotiate with any entities (medical, governmental, etc.) that have asserted liens against our client’s recovery. We customarily provide this assistance at no extra charge to our client, regardless of the time expenditure required.
In summary, the representation of injured clients is not just business for us – it is personal. It is not just a job – it is a mission. We believe we are here only to serve others, and that is why we are dedicated to serving our clients completely and to getting them more than monetary compensation. We try, whenever possible, to help repair the damage to their bodies, their families and their broken spirits.
Our People
Our Family
Everyone in our law firm is a Rothenberg or someone who believes in the Rothenberg way (See “Our Mission & Values” and “Our Methods - The Rothenberg Way”). Roughly half of us share the same DNA, and all of us share the same values and commitment to justice for personal injury victims. We think of ourselves as family, and when we take on a new client, we adopt them into our family, fighting for them as one of our own.
Our Motivation
Every person in this firm obtains their greatest personal satisfaction from helping an injured client and his or her family to get the necessary treatment and compensation to repair the damage to their lives as much as possible. We also take a special pride in delivering to our client a sizeable, restorative check from a billion dollar insurance company that made every possible effort to minimize or eliminate the amount it had to pay in compensation.
Our Passion
As a professional family, we love working together and solving problems as a team, and we often literally lay awake at night, ruminating over how we can solve a client’s problems brought about by catastrophic injury. Battling sophisticated and well-financed corporate defendants and insurance companies in court is hard, difficult and painstaking work, so we bring into our family only the most competent and dedicated lawyers who are up to the task. We recognize that you must have a passion for this work to do it well, and we are known by and defined by that relentless passion.
Our History
Our relentless passion has driven us to become one of the most reputable and well-recognized personal injury firms in the country ever since our founding by Allen L. Rothenberg in 1969. It was Allen and his wife, Barbara, who blazed the trail for the rest of us, enabling our family of lawyers to recover literally hundreds of millions of dollars for injured clients during more than four decades of legal service. We all chose this work because there is no more fulfilling way to live than by helping others to restore their shattered lives. It is certainly the best way to feel a true connection with our clients and our legal work.
Our Credentials
When we tackle a case as a team, we bring to it an array of legal experiences. Collectively, we also offer to our clients the life experiences of:
- Hundreds of trials in numerous courts around the country and in some foreign countries;
- Multiple lawyers who are members of the Multi Million Dollar Advocates Forum (those who have obtained Multi million dollar recoveries for their clients);
- Advocates who have obtained advanced degrees in other fields of study in addition to law;
- Advocates who are lecturers and teachers in trial advocacy;
- A former Philadelphia deputy district attorney in charge of homicide cases who is one of the most experienced trial lawyers in the nation
- A former special assistant attorney general in Pennsylvania;
- A former corporate General Counsel (chief legal officer to a corporation) with inside knowledge and understanding of corporate defense work;
- A former corporate defense lawyer who understands how “the other side” works;
- A former judicial clerk, who understands how judicial decisions are made and how judicial opinions are written and interpreted in chambers;
- A former management consultant professional;
- Multiple attorneys with honors degrees from Ivy League undergraduate and law schools; and
- Recognized professionals who have appeared on television, and been quoted on radio, in newspapers and other forms of media.
Our Attitude
We understand that attitude can determine altitude, and so we are generally upbeat and try to be of good humor for our clients and our teammates. We take our work very seriously, but we do not take on “airs” about ourselves as lawyers. We know that it is important to maintain good humor when dealing with the tragedy and hardship so often caused by personal injury. We are also both passionate and competitive as a team. Many of us are avid sports fans. We love the challenge of taking on an opponent in the court room and we live for the battle. At the same time, we are sensitive to and empathetic with our clients, especially those whose families are affected by a catastrophic injury, because we are not only part of a large professional family, but we have families of our own. We understand how an injury to or the loss of a mother, father, son or daughter can impact many different lives.
Our Reputation & Record
While the outcome of every case depends in large part on the facts and the applicable law, it also hinges upon the experience, commitment and competence of the advocates who are handling that case.
Our Record
We have a record of taking on cases involving all kinds of injuries, and giving our best effort for every client. We also have a particularly good record of taking on big cases with complex challenges, obtaining dozens of million-dollar verdicts and many more settlements of comparable size during the last four decades. We cannot promise a given result in any particular case just because of our past successes, but we can promise that you will get the benefit of our significant experience and our commitment to your case (See the “Verdicts” section of our Website for more details about our experience in cases involving significant damages).
Our Reputation
Because of our performance, we have earned a national reputation for our work in personal injury matters. That is why lawyers from many different states have called upon us to associate with them for the benefit of their clients in large and challenging cases in their own jurisdictions. It is also why clients from many different states have called upon us, sometimes requiring us to get admitted to practice in their courts on a pro hac vice basis. In fact, we have even participated in some cases involving foreign courts as well. We invite you to inquire about us to anyone who has hired our firm or worked with us, and we believe you will hear the highest compliments for our commitment, our professionalism, and our work.
Our Experience
The lawyers in our firm have collectively tried many hundreds of cases involving all kinds of accidents and injuries. We have dealt with injuries ranging from broken bones and damaged ligaments to traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord paralysis. We have also mastered the legal challenges and nuances particular to many different kinds of accidents, including but not limited to those involving:
- Cars, trucks, buses, trains, planes and other kinds of transportation vehicles
- Construction accidents
- Defective drugs
- Defective medical products and devices
- Defective and hazardous products generally
- Exposure to toxic chemicals
- Medical malpractice
- Nursing home neglect and abuse
- Dangerous and unsafe properties
Our Role in Legal Education.
We are proud to give back to our profession, and we are honored when called upon to do so. That is why several of us have committed our time to teaching about trial practice in local, regional and national seminars for practicing lawyers. Some of us have also answered the call to teach the next generation of law students at various law school campuses. We have also participated in charitable organizations, providing counseling and/or teaching about the law and the courts.
Our Honesty and Integrity
We consider our reputation for honesty and integrity to be of paramount importance. That is why we pledge to conduct ourselves honestly with clients, referral sources, co-counsel, opposing counsel, judges, juries and everyone involved in the legal process. We believe that anyone who has dealt with us will tell you that we are both honest and direct.
Our Commitment to Community
Every lawyer in our firm believes in the importance of giving something back to our communities.
Helping the Injured and Disadvantaged
We give a generous portion of our revenue to charitable organizations. We support multiple organizations including ones that are dedicated to treating and preventing injuries and ones that provide physical and mental health services to the injured and the disadvantaged.
Helping Children
We focus much of our philanthropy on causes involving children, schools and education. Several of our attorneys volunteer their time on a weekly basis to coach children’s sports teams as well as organize other children’s activities. Other firm members serve on local school boards. Our firm frequently sponsors children’s sports teams and events for children.
Preventing Religious Discrimination
We oppose all forms of religious discrimination, and our founder, Allen L. Rothenberg, has served as the national president of the Commission on Law and Public Affairs, which is comprised of volunteer attorneys who fight against religious discrimination.
Speaking Out
Several of our attorneys also volunteer their time as lecturers, public speakers and/or fundraisers for the many charitable causes that we support.
Counseling
Some of our attorneys have acted as board members and/or legal counselors to charitable organizations that we support, helping those charities advance their worthwhile causes while preventing liabilities.
Teaching
A number of our lawyers have acted as teachers and lecturers in law and trial practice. In this capacity, we have assisted continuing legal education programs and seminars for practicing lawyers, as well as law schools

Avvo Ratings
Avvo Ratings: The Avvo Rating is our effort to evaluate a lawyer’s background based on the information available in an attorney’s Avvo profile. We create the rating using a model that

considers information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Any information that affects the Avvo Rating is visible in an attorney’s profile. Disclaimer: The Avvo Rating is based only on the information we have collected and that the attorney has provided, so we don’t recommend the Avvo Rating as the only piece of information you use to evaluate whether an attorney is right for you. The rating is a tool that provides a snapshot assessment of a lawyer’s background and should be considered alongside other information such as client reviews and peer endorsements. Avvo does not provide a numerical rating for profiles that have not been claimed by that attorney. No Aspect Of This Advertisement Has Been Approved By The Supreme Court of New Jersey.
